HTC Desire 830 now official with BoomSound front speakers and more

HTC has just announced a brand new smartphone that offers a feature that even its latest flagship smartphone doesn’t boast.

The company lifted the curtain off the Desire 830, showcasing its BoomSound front-facing speakers. The rest of the phone is admirable enough, with a 5.5-inch 1920×1080 display and 13-megapixel camera on the back, coupled with optical image stabilization for good measure. There’s an UltraPixel camera on the front, while under the hood there’s an octa-core MediaTek processor humming along.

The Desire 830 also features 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage along with a microSD card slot for expandable storage. The battery measures in at 2800mAh.

The Desire 830 goes on sale in Taiwan beginning May 6, and it’ll retail for NT$9,990 ($310 USD). There’s no word right now from HTC whether or not the Desire 830 will land in other markets, but considering the Desire lineup usually makes the rounds eventually, it seems plausible that the powerful mid-range device will find its way to other markets.

HTC also confirmed that it would begin selling the Desire 825 in Taiwan beginning today, May 3. The Desire 825 features a 5.5-inch 1280×720 display, a 13MP camera on the back, a Snapdragon 400 processor, and 2GB of RAM. It’ll be priced at NT$7,990, or $248 USD.

What do you think of the Desire 830? Should HTC have included front-facing speakers on the HTC 10?
