Google unveils Android Wear 2.0

The news out of Google I/O isn’t stopping yet. Alongside Google Home, Assistant, Allo, Duo and an Android N beta program, Google is also announcing Android Wear 2.0.

Android Wear 2.0 can be broken down into a few key updates. The biggest update is in relation to cell enabled Android Wear devices. With Android Wear 2.0 and later, watches will no longer require a device to be connected to. Android We will be completely independent, and much more flexible becuase of that. For the homescreen, Google will now allow custom widgets regardless of the watch face you are using, with third-party developer support. And finally, Google is brining machine learning to messaging on Android Wear, with smart replies, handwriting recognition and more.
