Samsung Galaxy models across T-Mobile and Verizon receive updates

The update cycle is in full swing and today brings us updates for four different Samsung devices across two carriers. We’ll dive right in with the T-Mobile devices. Beginning today, T-Mobile is pushing Android 6.0 Marshmallow to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. After updating, users will see all the usual benefits of Marshmallow, such as Google Now On Tap, improved battery life with Doze, and improved app permissions. The update is roughly 1.3GB in size and is now rolling out.

On the Verizon side, a couple of different Samsung devices are receiving updates. First up is the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+, which is receiving its update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. In addition to the perks offered by the new version of Android, this update also includes the capability to use Wi-Fi calling and Verizon’s Advanced Calling, which essentially includes HD Voice calls and video calls over Verizon’s network.

Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is also receiving a minor update to solve some of the issues that have plagued it since its update to Marshmallow. This update solves the Wi-Fi troubles that users have been encountering, improving connection quality and reducing the likelihood of pages not loading.

All of these updates are now rolling out and are available as OTA updates. Drop a comment when you receive your update!
