HTC 10 Lifestyle silently announced for select Asian markets

There’s no question that the HTC 10′s spec sheet can compete with that of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5. But all those internal components come at a cost – especially the phone’s processor and RAM. This isn’t an issue for most people living in Europe or North America, but phone priced at $700 in Asia would be out of reach for nearly all consumers. To fix this issue, HTC has also introduced the HTC 10 Lifestyle which is powered by a cheaper Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor and is paired with only 3GB of RAM. All the other internal components are a 1-to-1 match with what’s inside the HTC 10. The HTC 10 Lifestyle still have a 5.2-inch QHD display, 32GB of internal storage, 12MP OIS camera with laser auto-focus on the back, 5MP OIS selfie cam on the front, 3,000 mAh battery, BoomSound speakers and a fingerprint sensor.

Stepping down from a Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB or RAM to a Snapdragon 652 with 3GB of RAM isn’t as bad as it sounds. Qualcomm’s 652 chip is marginally less powerful than the 810 that was used in many of last year’s flagship smartphone, but it’s noticeably faster than the 808. There’s even a chance that the HTC 10 Lifestyle will get better battery life because of the chip swap.

At this time we do not know what the price difference between the HTC 10 and HTC 10 Lifestyle will be. HTC hasn’t announced which markets will get the HTC 10 Lifestyle instead of the standard HTC 10, but we’ve managed to stop listings for the device on HTC’s sites for India, China and Singapore already.
