Google Play Music adding podcast support beginning today for Android and the web

Back on April 14, it was rumored that Google planned on launching podcast support within Google Play Music on April 18. And, sure enough, the time has arrived.

Google has officially announced that podcast support within Google Play Music will rollout today for users on Android in the US and Canada as well as on the web. There will be a Top Charts to show off the popular casts out there, and playlists that will put together different podcasts that share a similar topic. “Getting Lost in a Story” is a playlist that will offer up shows like Reply All and RadioLab, for instance.

You’ll also get subscription support within the podcasts part of Google Play Music, which will give you notifications for when a new episode is available and the option to download older episodes.
