Protostar Games, the creators of the enjoyable driving game Checkpoint Champion, will release their new game tomorrow. Checkpoint Champion was definitely a fun game, and it looks like Sling Kong will be too.

[UPDATE: Thursday, August 6th, 3:32 AM - PST] The colorful and challenging Sling Kong from Protostar Games is now available to download in the Google Play Store. The game is free to play and does include in-app purchases. The link to download the game can be found at the end of this article.

Sling Kong stars a much less intimidating Kong, that is on a vertical journey through the jungle and beyond. Kong is not the only character you will have the opportunity to take charge of. As you progress further into the game, you will have the opportunity to try out other characters in the game.

"Sling, bounce and swing your Kong to glory, but watch out for all manner of dastardly traps and obstacles. Go up, and up, and up until there's no more up to go, or else meet your hilarious end! Join Chimp, Pig, Jellyfish and over 35 other crazy and colorful characters as you challenge your friends to become the best Kong Slinger around." - Protostar Games

The game mechanics revolve around pulling the arms of Kong back (The character's arms are attached to a peg.), to launch him forward. You launch the character from one peg to another, while trying to avoid rotating saws, bursts of flames and countless other dangerous obstacles.

Sling Kong Features:

  • Simple stretch and release controls
  • 40 cute and squishy characters with unique personalities
  • Interactive friends leaderboard
  • Crazy pachinko-style prize machine
  • A funky, dynamic soundtrack

While Sling Kong will be quite different from Checkpoint Champion, what appears to remain, is another fun title from Protostar Games. The game is expected to release tomorrow, August 6th. Once the game hits the Google Play Store, we will update this article. Sling Kong will be free to play.
