Second gen Moto X Android 5.1 update includes new gesture for flashlight
The first gen Moto X launched with an innovative way to quickly open the camera: rotate the phone in your hand twice, no matter what state the phone is in, and the camera turns on. I loved this feature when I had a Moto X, and now Motorola is bringing another gesture to its second gen model.
With the Android 5.1 update for the second gen Moto X came a new flashlight gesture: you “chop” the phone twice and the camera LEDs come to life. This sounds incredibly useful, especially for someone who uses the LED flashlight of their device all the time (me). If you got the update, check the “Actions” settings in your phone to see if it’s enabled.
It’s good to see Motorola constantly adding feature with updates. And for those of you who didn’t get the Android 5.1 update, it’s possible that the feature might even be added through the Play Store soon. Keep an eye out!
