Dell is introducing a new Chromebook and tablet for education

Dell is just now making its return to the mobile market after an unsuccessful entry several years ago. It’s taking it slow, but Dell just announced that it’s releasing a new Chromebook and a new tablet for education. The new Chromebook 11 has an 11.6-inch 1366×768 display, dual-core 2.16GHz Intel Celeron processor, 2GB/4GB RAM, 16GB storage and 10 hours of battery life. The Chromebook 11 will be available with or without a touchscreen and is secured against day-to-day accidents with a durable design that includes a 180-degree hinge and liquid-resistant keyboard and touchpad.

Dell has also announced the Venue 10 tablet for education. The company hasn’t given much for details but says that the tablet will feature a 10.1-inch HD display, likely with a 1280×800 resolution. The tablet will run Android 5.0 Lollipop, include NFC and be one of the first tablets certified with Google Play for Education. It will also have two accessory options of an active stylus for writing and drawing as well as a unique, attachable keyboard. The keyboard will allow the Venue 10 to be used in five different positions including clamshell, tent, stand and slate.

The Chromebook 11 is now available and starts at $249.99. The Dell Venue 10 is coming later in spring and a price hasn’t been disclosed.
