ZTE Imperial II hits U.S. Cellular as pre-orders for ZTE SPro Android-based projector begin

Just days after debuting a fresh new logo, ZTE has announced a couple of new Android-powered products.

The ZTE Imperial II is a new smartphone available from U.S. Cellular for $0.01 with a two-year contract or $149.99 on a prepaid plan. As you might expect after seeing those prices, the Imperial II isn’t exactly a high-end phone, but it’s got a respectable feature set for anyone that’s on a budget:

  • 5-inch 960×540 display
  • 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor
  • 5-megapixel rear, 1-megapixel front cameras
  • 8GB of storage
  • microSD card slot
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 4G LTE
  • 2300mAh battery
  • Android 4.4.2

ZTE is also selling a Wi-Fi-only version of the Sprint LivePro projector/hotspot that it announced in July 2014, though without cellular connectivity, it’s more of just a smart projector. The SPro is powered by Android 4.2 and comes with a 4-inch 800×480 touchscreen, non-removable 5000mAh battery, 4GB of storage, 1GB of RAM, a microSD card slot, HDMI and USB ports, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, and a projector that can kick out a display between 10 inches and 120 inches.

The ZTE SPro is available for pre-order for $399. An official launch is set for January 6.
