T-Mobile SCORE! official, pay $5 per month to get discounts on new smartphones

After being the subject of a rumor report a few days ago, T-Mobile’s SCORE! program is now officially official.

After enrolling in T-Mobile SCORE!, you pay $5 per month and then you’re eligible for discounted smartphones after 6 months and 12 months. After 6 months, you can get a free entry-level phone like the Alcatel Onetouch Evolve 2. If you wait 12 months, though, you can get a discount on any other smartphone T-Mo sells. For example, the Nexus 6 will be reduced from $649.99 to $499, and the Galaxy Note 4 will have its price cut from $749.76 to $599.

T-Mobile SCORE! is available to all T-Mo customers. That includes those on prepaid plans, so you don’t need to worry about signing up for a postpaid plan just to get a discount on a new phone.

T-Mobile has been helping customers upgrade to new phones for a while now with its JUMP! program. However, SCORE! is $5 per month less than JUMP!, and it also doesn’t require you to trade in your phone to upgrade to a new one like JUMP! does. Of course, SCORE! also requires you to pay several hundred dollars for your device instead of making installment payments. If that sounds doable to you, then SCORE! might be worth a look.
