HTC Desire 626 revealed in new leak

Apparently January is a Desire-filled month. Following the official announcements of the HTC Desire 320 and Desire 826 at CES earlier this month, the rumor mill has revealed details on another new Desire phone.

The HTC Desire 626 is a new Android smartphone that looks to be a combination of the Desire 620 and the aforementioned Desire 826. According to @upleaks, the Desire 626’s spec list looks like this:

  • 5-inch 1280×720 display
  • 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor (@upleaks says it’s an MT6572, but that’s a dual-core chip, while the MT6752 is octa-core)
  • 13-megpaixel rear, 5-megapixel front cameras
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 16GB of storage
  • 2000mAh battery
  • Android 4.4, with an upgrade to Android 5.0 planned

A lower-end CU model of the Desire 626 is also reportedly in the works with a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor and 1GB of RAM.

There’s no mention of when the Desire 626 might debut. With MWC around one month away, though, there’s a chance that HTC could reveal it right before or at the show so that MWC-goers can spend some hands-on time with it.
