Alcatel Onetouch reveals PIXI 3 with support for three OSes, WATCH round smartwatch

Just days before CES 2015 gets underway, Alcatel Onetouch has decided to give us a preview of two of its unique products that it plans to parade around the show.

First up is the PIXI 3 series of smartphones. What makes the PIXI 3 series interesting is that it offers the same phone in four different screen sizes — 3.5-inch, 4-inch, 4.5-inch, and 5-inch — as well as support for three different OSes. Yep, the PIXI 3 phones can run Android, Windows Phone, or Firefox OS. However, it’s worth noting that according to PCMag’s Sascha Segan, consumers aren’t meant to change the OSes on the PIXI 3 phones. Instead, it’s the carriers that’ll choose which OSes their PIXI 3 phones run.

The remainder of the PIXI 3 series spec lists are still mostly up in the air. We do know, though, that they 4-inch, 4.5-inch, and 5-inch models support 4G LTE. The 3.5-inch version is 3G-only.

Alcatel Onetouch also introduced its first wearable today. The WATCH is, you guessed it, a new smartwatch. Once you strap the WATCH onto your wrist, it can track your daily activity and connect to your Android smartphone to control music, take photos, receive notifications, and more.

Like the PIXI 3 phones, spec details on the WATCH are fairly light. We can see that it’s got a round face with an outer ring and an inner circle that looks to have a Moto 360-esque “flat tire”. Alcatel Onetouch says that the WATCH will have a “very accessible price.”

Obviously details on the PIXI 3 and WATCH products are still light, but so far they look like interesting devices. More details should come out at CES next week, and you can bet that we’ll have a team on the ground to gather all of the info as it’s released!
