Shazam app updated with new music, Spotify and Rdio integration
Shazam, one of the most popular mobile music apps today, was recently updated to include new music and bring a new in-app listening and discovery experience.
The name alone makes you want to believe in magic and Shazam wants to provide users that: a magical music discovery plus uninterrupted listening. With the updated app, you can now receive personalized music news. You can also enjoy exclusive Shazam Sessions and real time trending songs from your Shazam friends and favorite artists. The app also features expanded charts that can check hits across genres and different countries.
One tap is all you need to do to discover and listen to great music. This is what the Shazam team wants you to experience so it has really worked hard on improving the app.
With the Shazam Music player, users can also surf the Shazam charts, see what's trending, and save tracks to listen to in the future. If you're a premium Rdio or Spotify subscriber, you can also listen to your playlists right on the app--thanks to the recent Rdio and Spotify integration.
For those who also want to listen to the latest and the greatest music, the Hall of Fame features those artists who've been successful on Shazam. The app now shows the number of Shazams each track already has on the Shazam website.
Shazam Platinum artists include Avicii for Wake Me Up, Gotye for Somebody That I Used to Know, Robin Thicke (feat T.I. & Pharrell) for Blurred Lines, and Passenger for Let Her Go. These are just some of the tracks that already surpassed 5, 10 or 5 million Shazams.
At present, there are more than 100 million mobile monthly active users enjoying Shazam. We'll see if more will be added to the number.
