Samsung Gear VR is Available for Purchase Now

The Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition is now available for purchase on the Samsung website for $199.99. This headset works with the Galaxy Note 4 and is powered by Oculus.

For the price you are paying you are getting more than just the headset as it comes with a lens cloth, a 16GB microSD card, replacement face cushions (remember this thing is worn on your head) and a carrying case. Access to the Oculus VR store is given after downloading it during setup. There you can find different kinds of apps that take advantage of the VR device. Milk VR will also soon be available to use, it is a 360° video service.

The main reason we are reporting this on DroidGamers is for the fact that it allows users to play VR games. While there may not be much out there yet Samsung has worked on developing games to be played specifically on their headset. I don't have any plans on buying a VR headset soon, mainly due to the price and what is actually available on them. However I do think it is a cool idea nonetheless.
