Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Android 5.0 update previewed on video
Back in late October, Samsung posted an image that teased Android 5.0 Lollipop on the Galaxy Note 4. The image was a bit more literal than most of us would’ve liked, though, showing us actual lollipops on a Note 4. Fast-forward to today and we’re getting what we really want.
SamMobile has posted a preview of Android 5.0 running on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, complete with screenshots and a hands-on video. While the software is still mostly TouchWiz, there are definitely some Material design touches, including in core apps like messaging and phone and in the notification tray. The Note 4’s Settings app includes scrollable menus, and the Camera app has gained some shortcuts for slow motion and time lapse video recording.
There’s never been a question of whether or not the Galaxy Note 4 will be updated to Android 5.0 because it’s Samsung’s current flagship phone. It is nice to get an early preview of the update in action, though, and I’m sure most Note 4 owners will be happy to be on the newest version of Android, even if it’s still got Samsung’s fingerprints all over it.
