HTC to take on the Moto G with the new Desire 620

The HTC Desire 620 is the newest device in HTC’s Desire lineup. The phone carries a few of the design characteristics of the HTC Desire 820 in a more pocketable size. Measuring in at 150.1 x 72.7 x 9.6mm, the HTC desire 620 is equipped with a 5-inch 720p display, Snapdragon 410 SoC, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, microSD slot with support for cards up to 128GB in size , front-facing 5-megapixel camera, 8-megapixel main camera with single LED flash, BoomSound speakers, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, NFC and a 2,100mAh battery.

Pricing of the HTC Desire 620 isn’t available yet, but many are expecting the mid-range phone to carry a €280 in Europe, which should translate into a sticker price of $300 (off-contract) if the phone is ever sold by a service provider in the U.S.

The specs of the HTC Desire 620 would make it a direct competitor to the second-gen Motorola Moto G. The Moto G does have a price advantage over the Desire 620, but HTC’s phone has a superior camera experience, NFC support, and a larger battery.

Would you be willing to pay a little extra for the HTC Desire 620 or is the Moto G’s price just too hard to pass up?
