Google has made quite an effort in perfecting the powerful and multi-faceted OS that we know as Android. Despite its overall greatness, Google’s mobile operating system lacks two things: a built-in FM Radio and a simple file manager. That said, there are plenty of third party applications that can fill the gap.

One interesting file floating around the Internet is MK Explorer by XDA Forum Member kormateusz. This application is a lightweight, simple and elegant manager that can perform most of required on-file operations like copying, moving, renaming and even archive extracting. If you like to modify your /system partition directly from your phone, you will be glad to know that MK Explorer offers root support as well.

The list of features is quite impressive, but there is always room for improvement in any project. The developer plans to add a simple text editor that might be useful for build.prop editing. ZIP and RAR viewing is also on the to-do list. We truly believe that with your help and support, kormateusz will be able to improve this application further and bring out its full potential.

If you haven’t tried the MK Explorer already, perhaps now is a good time to change this. You can find this application by heading over to the MK Explorer- simple file manager forum thread to learn more.
