Everything to know about the HTC Nexus 9

The day has come and the new Nexus devices are real. The latest tablet in the lineup is the HTC Nexus 9, a powerful 8.9-inch tablet that runs stock Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Nexus 9 is built to both consume and create, with plenty of power for both. But you want to know about what the tablet offers, what it can provide you with. Let’s take a look at the hardware and specs of the HTC Nexus 9.

The Nexus 9 is constructed with a soft-grip back and brushed aluminum sides for a high-quality feel that will also stand up to the daily grind. Three different hues of Indigo Black, Lunar White and Sand are being offered. The screen is an 8.9-inch IPS LCD display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2048×1536, all of it kept under Corning Gorila Glass 3. The front also features two thin bezels and then two larger ones for front-facing BoomSound speakers.

Inside the tablet, a 2.3GHz quad-core (technically penta-core with a low-power core) 64-bit NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor keeps the show running. Additionally, the tablet has 2GB of RAM and a storage option of either 16 or 32GB. A 6,700mAh battery provides the power to make everything within the Nexus 9 work. On the back sits an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Nexus 9 runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box and also features the double tap to wake that’s found on HTC phones. Wi-Fi and LTE versions will both be offered. The Nexus 9 will be available for pre-order in the Google Play Store beginning Friday, October 17 and will be fully available beginning November 3. It will also be available in stores on November 3.
