Square Enix has recently been pushing their weight behind mobile gaming on both iOS and Android, more so on iOS until recently when Android started getting Final Fantasy titles and other games announced to be coming on the way. Now it looks like their The World Ends With You RPG is getting a sequel and clues are pointing to a mobile connection as well.

Update: June 30th, 2014 8:13am PST: The original of this game is now available on Google Play a massive $17.99. You can grab it through the link below if your wallet is dead already from the Steam Summer sale.

While we can point out all the clues to the new countdown page Square Enix has put up and that it is about a new The World Ends With You sequel, like the music being from the original and the pages source code giving out that the character design is done by Tetsuya Nomura and Gen Kobayashi who were apart of the original game's development, what interests us the most is at the very bottom of the page.

The little logos at the bottom center of the page are some of your standard social network ones but then there is the distinctive blue diamond logo of GREE which is definitely an indication that there is either going to be some sort of mobile aspect to this sequel or that the sequel itself will also be available on mobile devices. GREE is on both iOS and Android and is starting to make a worldwide push with games integrated with their social gaming platform.

This doesn't mean any of this will be released outside of Japan in regards to the mobile aspect of things but considering GREE's worldwide push going on right now, there is a good chance of it. However, we will have to wait 11 hours 11 minutes and 20 seconds to find out... 19... 18... 17.
