[OTA Captured] KitKat Finally Lands on International Razr HD XT925

assc

You may recall that just under a month ago, the Verizon Droid RAZR HD XT926 received a KitKat soak test that allowed users on America’s largest carrier to get an early access taste of Android 4.4.2 on the former flagship device. The soak test apparently went very well because just two days later, the official OTA went live.

Unfortunately, as we noted in the previous articles linked above, these updates were only for the Verizon-branded XT926 model. As such, they were incompatible with the international XT925 model. Understandably, this left many XT925 owners feeling left out and wondering when they’d get a taste of the KitKat goods. Well, folks, we’re happy to report that the update has begun rolling out to the Razr HD XT925 in certain regions.

The firmware itself comes in the form of a 570.2 MB OTA update. It brings the device up to software version 180.46.99.XT925.CEE, with build ID KDA20.99. And so far, it has only begun rolling out to the EU retail version of the device. The update was first spotted by XDA Forum Member doumworld, who received an update notification two days ago.

This update was then quickly captured and mirrored by Forum Member Fekajo. However, as this was only for the EU retail version of the XT925, some users had difficulty applying the incremental OTA. Luckily, XDA Senior Member Orphee was quick to provide instructions on how to get the firmware working. Then later, Orphee was kind enough to also provide a modified OTA zip for users in other regions to enjoy.

If you’re an XT925 owner looking to get in on the KitKat goods, today is your lucky day. Make your way over to the original thread to learn more about the update and get in on the ADB sideload action yourself.

[Many thanks to Forum Member m_torresagasti for the tip!]
