Samsung Galaxy S5 hits Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile for $599.99

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is making its way onto two more US wireless providers today. Both Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile are now selling Sammy’s latest flagship smartphone.

Priced at $599.99 without a contract, the Galaxy S5 being sold by Boost and Virgin is the same model that’s available on other US carriers. That means that it’s packing a 5.1-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, 16-megapixel camera, 2.5GHz quad-core processor and 2800mAh battery. The device also supports Sprint’s Spark tri-band LTE service as well as its regular 4G LTE coverage.

When it comes to plan options, the Galaxy S5 is compatible with Boost’s recently-announced Monthly Unlimited Select plans. Those offerings start at $40 per month and include unlimited talk, text and data. The $40 plan offers 500MB of high-speed 3G/4G data, the $50 plan comes with 2.5GB of high-speed data and the $60 offering includes 5GB of high-speed data.

Meanwhile, Virgin Mobile’s Galaxy S5 works with the operator’s Beyond Talk plans. Those include unlimited data — 2.5GB of which is at high speeds — and messaging as well as varying amounts of anytime minutes. The base $35 plan offers 300 minutes, the $45 plan includes 1200 minutes and the top-end $55 plan offers unlimited anytime minutes.

The Galaxy S5 was already available on a number of US providers before today, but it’s always good to see a flagship smartphone make its way onto the shelves of more carriers. That means that more folks are able to buy the thing without having to jump ship. Perhaps best of all is the fact that the Galaxy S5 is compatible with Sprint’s LTE network as well as its tri-band Spark LTE coverage, which offers faster speeds and increased capacity.
