T-Mobile’s Uncarrier announcements continue with ‘Operation Tablet Freedom’

Hot on the heels of the announcement of its new Simple Starter plan, T-Mobile today revealed the second of the three Uncarrier announcements that it has planned this week.

T-Mobile’s new promotion is known as Operation Tablet Freedom and is aimed at getting more 4G LTE-capable tablets into the hands of consumers. The promo consists of three different offers:

  • T-Mobile voice customers can get 1GB of data for free each month of 2014 by adding a 4G LTE tablet to their plan. Paired with T-Mobile’s existing 200MB tablet offer, this gives subscribers 1.2GB of free usage through the end of the year.
  • When buying a new 4G LTE-enabled tablet, T-Mobile customers will receive a discount that’ll make the price of the device the same as its Wi-Fi-only equivalent. For example, an LTE Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 will cost $200 rather than $312.
  • Finally, T-Mobile customers that already have a Wi-Fi-only tablet can trade that unit in and apply the value to the cost of an LTE device.

T-Mobile’s Operation Tablet Freedom launches this Saturday, April 12. The official announcement is available at the link below.
