Nikon tries the Android camera again with the Coolpix S810c

Nikon is back with a new camera in its point-and-shoot oriented Coolpix line, and this one's running Android. The Coolpix S810c has been officially introduced to the world in black and white with a price tag of $349.95 when it hits store shelves in May.

Nikon's first Android venture lagged behind on Gingerbread, but this time out we do at least have Jelly Bean of the 4.2.2 flavor. As you'd expect it also has Wifi connectivity, and with Android on board a wealth of sharing and social capabilities with access to the Play Store and your favorite apps. When you're away from Wifi, the S810c also has its own companion app for your phone to help you get your images and send them out into the world.

On the camera front, Nikon has packed the S810c with a 16MP BSI CMOS sensor and a 12x optical zoom. ISO goes up to 3200 and it also has Nikon's Lens-Shift Vibration Reduction system to help 'banish blurry photos.' The display on the back is a manageable 3.7-inches with a 1.2million dot resolution. Oh, and as you'd expect it'll also take 1080p video.

So, a marked improvement from the last Android powered Nikon, but we'll wait until we see it to pass final judgment. What do you guys think of it?
