Samsung S Circle heads through Bluetooth SIG, could be S Band successor

Samsung has already announced three new wearable devices: The Gear 2, the Gear 2 Neo, and the Gear Fit. All three are full fledged smartwatches with displays and a variety of sensors. However, with such advanced hardware comes a high price tag. What about those that want a basic fitness band at a low price to use with their new Samsung device and S Health app?

Samsung’s solution was the Samsung S Band, a very basic fitness band with a coin cell battery that didn’t need to be charged and a heart rate monitor built in. It was to be used with the original S Health app back when it was released. However, we may see a successor to the fitness band soon. Going through Bluetooth SIG is a device called the Samsung S Circle, with the same prefix in its model number (EI-AN900A) as the S Band.

This could be a very simple heart rate monitor band, just like the previous S Band, for those who don’t want to spend much money. It’s not exactly an exciting device, but it might offer something new that no one was expecting. Either way, we shall see.
