Desire 610 coming to AT&T in HTC’s push for the mid-range

HTC’s new focus on the mid-range is starting to show. The company recently announced two new mid-range devices, the Desire 816 and the Desire 610. The Desire series has been known as HTC’s mid-range line for quite a while, and it’s nice to see a few new  devices popping up in the Desire family.

HTC has made no announcements about either new Desire model coming to the U.S., but according to a new rumor, the Desire 610 is going to be released on AT&T. As we discussed on yesterday’s podcast, every manufacturer has multiple devices in carrier stores, ensuring that they’re able to sell more devices and earn more profits than HTC. Now HTC will have something to offer in addition to its All New One.

The Desire 610 features a 4.7-inch qHD 960×540 display, 1.2GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage with a microSD slot, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2,040 mAh battery. It’s definitely a decent device, though the screen resolution screams low-end. I do wish AT&T offered the Desire 816 instead, which I actually quite like. What do you think of AT&T potentially carrying the Desire 610? Would you recommend it to anyone? Tell us in the comments!
