Samsung has updated its open source pages with kernel source for the Sprint version of the Galaxy Note 3, but this isn't just any update. You can now download the long-awaited KitKat source for Samsung's phablet on Sprint. If we take a lesson from recent history, the OTA could be announced as soon as tomorrow.

This 892MB download isn't going to help any regular users, but it's good news if you like ROMs and active app development. Having kernel source makes all that easier to do for developers, and as a bonus, it usually signals an update is on the way. When Samsung pushed the source for the Sprint Galaxy S4, the OTA was announced the following day. We'll keep an eye out for it.
