Samsung Galaxy S5 dimensions seen in leaked render

We're already counting down to the days before Samsung's schedule Unpacked 5 event but of course there's still time for new rumors and leaks. This time we're getting a look at what seems to be the actual size of the upcoming Galaxy S5.

Of course, this is obviously just a rendering, but what is notable are the dimensions written on the image. Based on this latest piece of information, whose source, as always, remains anonymous, the Galaxy S5 will be around 5.58 in long, 2.8 in wide, and around 0.32 in thin. Contrast this to the current Galaxy S 4 flagship, which has a body that is 5.37 in long, 2.7 in wide, and 0.31 in thin.

Other than that, nothing is added to our growing body of knowledge. The Galaxy S5 is already expected to have a 5.25-inch screen and will run on a Snapdragon 805 CPU with 3 GB of RAM and varying configurations of internal storage from 32 to 128 GB. Also said to be present is a 16 megapixel rear camera and a 3.2 megapixel one in front. And, of course, it will be coming with Android 4.4 out of the box.

If these measurements turn out to be the real deal, then Samsung would have managed to pull off something like the Galaxy Note 3 again, with a new smartphone that has a larger screen but is only longer but not significantly wider than its predecessor. Unfortunately, if the rumors are indeed correct, we might only be seeing a 1920x1080 pixel resolution on that larger display, the very same resolution on the Galaxy S4.
