LG to enter shrunken smartphone arena with G2 Mini

LG has been talking up its new G Pro 2 quite a bit lately, touting the device’s 13-megapixel camera and OIS Plus technology. The G Pro 2 isn’t the only new G-series phone that the Life’s Good crew is cooking up, though, as LG took the chance today to tease a new miniature version of the G2 on its Facebook page.

Details on the LG G2 Mini are still light, but the image posted by LG shows the device with the same rear button layout as its G2 and G Flex siblings. The G2 Mini also features a center-aligned rear camera with a flash.

We’ve seen a number of Android device makers unleash miniature versions of their flagship products, including HTC, Samsung and Sony. It’s actually kind of surprising that it’s taken LG this long to get its own shrunken smartphone out onto the market, but now that the G2 has spent some quality time in the new device spotlight, it looks like LG is finally ready to fire a shrink ray at its current flagship. Thankfully we won’t have to wait long to see what the resulting device looks like, because LG says that the G2 Mini will be making the trip to Mobile World Congress for a Feb. 24 debut.

What features would you like to see LG include with the G2 Mini?
