Earlier today, we saw the AT&T HTC One receive the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat goods via an incremental OTA update. This update, which came in the form a staged rollout, started making its way to consumer devices early in the morning. Thankfully, a couple of XDA community members who were lucky enough to receive the OTA mirrored the update for everyone’s enjoyment. Now, AT&T has started updating its variant of the LG G2 to KitKat as well. And just like before, the community has stepped up and shared the OTA for your side-loading pleasure.

According to AT&T’s release post, the update brings several key features including UI refinements, improved battery life, and 17% faster performance. Furthermore, the “Knock On” feature has reportedly been improved, and due to the rebase to KitKat, Cloud Printing is now integrated into the OS.

Naturally if you’re rooted and running stock firmware, you’re going to want to get in on the update a bit early. Thankfully, XDA Forum Members tonynmisty and hyelton have mirrored the OTA on Dropbox and StorageCow. Once the update has been downloaded, place the file in your FOTA folder using a Root-enabled file manager and flash the update with a custom recovery.

Head over to the KitKat Update thread to get in on the discussion. Those wishing to sideload the update a bit early should head over to tonynmisty’s Dropbox mirror or hyelton’s storagecow mirror and FOTA update instructions. And if you wish to view LG’s performance demo for the update, check out the video at the bottom of this post.
