AnTuTu benchmarks show specs of two different Galaxy S5 models

The Samsung flagship has launched in two different models around the world for many years. There was always the Exynos model (3G only) and the Snapdragon model with LTE. The difference between these devices has been the processor, while the rest of the hardware stayed the same. But we may be looking at a bigger difference this year. There is a rumor going around that there will be a “Standard” and a “Prime” version of the Galaxy S5, and these AnTuTu benchmark scores support that theory.

These are two different models of the Galaxy S5 with completely different specs. The SM-G900H should be the European model, while the SM-G900R4 should be the US Cellular model. As you can see, besides a processor difference, the display, RAM and storage are completely different. The European version has a 1080p display, an Exynos 5422 octa core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The US Cellular model has a QHD display, a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 800 quad core, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

If these specs end up being real (and it’s not that hard to fake specs on benchmarks), the idea that there will be two utterly different hardware platforms for the Galaxy S5 would make sense. Maybe Samsung realizes how unnecessary a 3G model is and wants to downplay it. Who knows, but we’ll find out at Samsung’s Unpacked event on the 24th!
