Tired of Being Left Behind? iOS7 Instagram for Android

instagram

Instagram has become a necessary evil for many people around the globe. Sharing pictures laced with sepia filters and other effects is one of the latest crazes in the world of mobile photography. This world is, however, split into two: the world of iOS users and that of Android users. So for any software company attempting world domination, it must be at the top of its game by catering proper and updated code to its victims users. Instagram seems to either not understand this simple concept, or they must not really care much about Android users. As it turns out, the UI for Instagram on Android can be classified as lousy at best, yet people use it because it is what it is, and there is not much out there that can replace it. On top of that, you have the iOS7 version of the app, which is far more streamlined and easier to use.

XDA Senior Member krishneelg3 decided that the Android version could use a bit of a makeover to make it more like its iOS counterpart. This is how the modded Instagram for Android came to be. All the goodies that you can find in the iOS version are present, such as tabbed navigation as well as a far more intuitive layout. The app is not just a skin, but rather a fully functional, re-built version of the original. So, if you were looking for a reason to ditch the official app, now is your chance.

The dev is looking for feedback as the app is in early beta stages. Bugs are present, so do not be alarmed if something does not work the way it should. Please be sure to include a logcat if you can. This always aides in the bug squashing process. You can find more information in the original thread. Happy hipster snapping!
