Getting Answers is Only Half the Battle–DLD Calc Wins You the Other Half

DLDCalc

Who hasn’t used a calculator in this day and age? Considering age groups, professions, and several other factors, it is reasonable to assume that almost every XDA forum member has used one at some point. Calculators are both a gift and a curse because although they can get you out of a bind with just a few keystrokes, they might leave you empty inside without knowing how you actually got to the numbers you wanted so desperately. And for those still learning the ropes with basic Algebra, this becomes a crutch that can have devastating negative effects when your professor yells, “put away your calculators,” right before the start of an exam.

What if I told you that the time has finally come for you to use a calculator and actually learn something while using it? Sound farfetched? I know, but it is entirely possible, especially with XDA Forum Member djList‘s newest application. DLD Calc is an app that is unlike any other calculator app out there. Instead of simply getting a number at the end of the number crunching process, this app also gives you a step-by-step replay of how to actually arrive at the answer. This is particularly useful when dealing with more complex operations such as fraction addition where more steps are required to arrive at an answer. The app currently supports basic math functions as well as fractions with integers only.

The dev states that the app is still under development and has decided to share it on XDA in order to gather feedback (good, bad, or indifferent). Please leave your thoughts regarding bugs or suggestions on how you would improve this app. You can find more information in the original thread.
