Google is expanding eSIM support in the Pixel 3 to more networks

Google introduced eSIM, which features a secondary electronic SIM card, in the Pixel 2, and now it’s expanding support for more wireless networks with the Pixel 3.

You can buy a Pixel 3, which supports eSIM functionality, right now from the Google Store or directly from Google Fi. But Google has announced on Monday that it will be broadening the eSIM support to more wireless carriers around the globe. If you are in the United States, support is coming to Sprint “in the coming months”. Within that same timeframe the support is coming to EE in the United Kingdom, Reliance Jio and Airtel in India, along with Gigsky and Truphone in various markets.

For those in Germany, Vodafone and Deutsche Telekom will be adding support for eSIM in the Pixel 3 “soon”.

Google also announced that it is creating a program for Android device makers to launch more handsets with eSIM support, so it sounds like we should expect to see this feature available in more smartphones coming down the line soon enough.
