Leaked Moto G7 renders reveal small notch and a headphone jack

Motorola has a new smartphone on the way, and courtesy of new leaked renders of that handset, we may have a pretty good idea of what to expect.

Courtesy of @OnLeak and MySmartPrice, we have a few different renders of the Moto G7 to stare at as we lead into the weekend. The renders were put together based on factory CADs of the handset, and they reveal that Motorola will be adopting the notch design with the upcoming handset, but keeping things small with the teardrop design, similar to the OnePlus 6T.

The other piece of good news, if these renders are indeed accurate, is that Motorola will be including a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom of the handset, which will probably be a welcomed addition these days. There is also a USB-C port on the bottom, and the Motorola logo on the back will probably double as a fingerprint reader.

If Motorola is keeping to its yearly launch cycle, then this leak of the G7 is pretty early. The company traditionally announces new G-series handsets at the beginning of each year, so if this first hint at the upcoming handset is any indicator, we will likely be seeing a lot more of the G7 between now and early 2019.

In related news, Evan Blass (@evleaks) took to Twitter to say that Motorola is going to launch one more G-series model next year than it has typically done in the past. Specifically, we could see the Moto G7, the G7 Play, the G7 Plus, and the G7 Power debut early next year.

What do you think of the design?
