Nokia phone with five rear cameras poses for leaked photo
The race to pack more and more cameras into phones may be about to get a serious push forward.
According to a leaked photo, HMD Global and Nokia are preparing a phone with five rear cameras. The Zeiss-branded camera setup is arranged in a circle with a single lens in the center and four other lenses around it as well as a flash and another sensor. We can also see the model number TA-1094 on the back of the device.
Unfortunately, today’s report doesn’t offer up any other details on this mystery Nokia device, so it’s unclear what the different functions of those cameras might be or what other specs the phone might have. It’s possible that the cameras may include a telephoto zoom, a monochrome lens, or a wide angle camera, but for now that’s unknown.
Nokia devices have placed a heavy focus on camera performance in the past, and it looks like HMD Global may be tapping into that again with this TA-1094. It might seem crazy to put five cameras on the back of a phone, but depending on what functions they serve, they could come in handy and give the user quite a bit of versatility.
