New OnePlus 6T renders show off a small notch

The OnePlus 6T is going to have a notch. The good news here is that the notch is going to be pretty tiny.

The Essential Phone heralded the arrival of the notch, but that handset’s cut into the display wasn’t too bad. It’s only become a bad thing from then on, but it looks like OnePlus won’t be welcoming a huge notch when it launches its next flagship smartphone. We’ve seen the notch leak out already, but these renders from MySmartPrice show it in remarkably clear detail.

The new report also reiterates that the OnePlus 6T is going to have an in-display fingerprint reader and that there will be a pair of cameras on the back of the phone when it launches. We know the handset won’t have a 3.5mm headphone jack, which may be a dealbreaker for some in 2018.

As for the rest of the phone, the report states that the 6.4-inch Optic AMOLED display will have a resolution of 1080×2340 and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Under the hood there will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, up to 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of built-in storage, and there will be 16- and 20-megapixel cameras on the back. Basically, a high-end smartphone with a few tweaks to help reduce costs when compared to the other flagships out there.

Are you already planning on upgrading to the OnePlus 6T when it arrives later this year? Especially if it does indeed launch on T-Mobile’s network?
