Motorola unveils the Moto E5, Moto E5 Play, and Moto E5 Plus

Motorola confirmed an event would be happening on April 19, and, sure enough, the company stuck to its plans and introduced not just one new smartphone, but two, each with plenty of variants.

There were technically six new devices unveiled today at Motorola’s event. The Moto E5 and Moto G6 are the base models, and Motorola branched out from there, offering two additional variants for each family. So, without further delay, here are the new Moto E5 models’ specifications, pricing, and release dates:

Moto E5 (pictured above)

The Moto E5 is launching only in Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America over the coming months. It will have a starting MSRP of €149 EUR when it does arrive.

Moto E5 Plus

• Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 435
• Storage: 32GB
• RAM: 3GB
• Rear Camera: 12MP with f/2.0 aperture
• Front Camera: 8MP
• Expandable Storage: up to 128GB microSD card
• Battery: 5000mAh
• Operating System: Android 8.0 Oreo
• Ports: microUSB port, 3.5mm headphone jack
• Colors: Black, Mineral Blue, Flash Gray, Fine Gold

Motorola’s E5 Plus will go on sale in Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, and in North America over the coming months, and it will have a starting MSRP of €169 EUR. Motorola says this model’s pricing will vary depending on carrier choice.

Finally, the Moto E5 Play is an exclusive handset in the United States, and it will retail for whatever carriers choose to sell it for (Motorola didn’t go into detail about pricing with this model).
