Essential Phone gets January security patches, fixes for Spectre and Meltdown
Days after Google released the January 2018 Android security patches to Pixel and Nexus phones, the Essential Phone has started receiving them, too.
Essential says that it’s now pushing update NMJ88C to the Essential Phone. The update includes the January 2018 security patches as well as fixes for the Spectre and Meltdown security flaws.

Essential has been pretty fast with its monthly security patches for the Essential Phone, and it did it again with the January 2018 security patches. The update is now rolling out over the air, so if you’ve got an Essential Phone, you should see it hit your device soon.
