Acer launches budget-friendly Chromebook 11

As one of the early backers of Chrome OS, Acer has a lot invested into the platform. The company is continuing its support with the launch of the new Chromebook 11, a budget-friendly device that features USB Type-C ports. The Chromebook 11 starts at just $249, but features fairly low-end specs to match. Let’s take a look at what Acer is offering.

The Chromebook 11 is outfitted with an 11.6-inch display that features a surprisingly low 1366×768 resolution, as well as options for touch and non-touch displays. Inside, Acer has equipped the Chromebook 11 with an Intel Celeron processor, 2GB/4GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of storage, and a battery that should provide 10 hours of power. As for peripherals, the Chromebook 11 boasts two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 3.1 Type-C ports, and a microSD card reader. Notably, the Chromebook 11 boasts a fanless design, making it a quiet option for students.

The Chromebook 11 will launch in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East in March, and in North America in April, for a base price of $249.
