Amazon intros limited edition (RED) Echo to fight AIDS

Amazon has sold its Echo (2nd Generation) in six different colors since its launch last month, and now the smart speaker is getting a seventh color.

Today Amazon launched a limited edition PRODUCT(RED) version of the Echo (2nd Generation). This device has the same price as the other Echo color options, but Amazon says that for every unit purchased, $10 will be donated to the Global Fund to fight AIDS.

The price isn’t the only thing that’s the same with this PRODUCT(RED) Echo and the other color options, because the features are the same, too. The one big difference with the hardware is that the shell is a bright red fabric.

While the bright red color may not be for everyone, this (RED) Echo is appealing because it costs the same as the other models, but $10 will go to charity when you buy it. The fact that it’s a limited edition makes it intriguing, too, because you can snag one and have your Echo stand out from most others.

You can pre-order this PRODUCT(RED) Amazon Echo right now, and Amazon says that the device will be released on December 6.
