Use your spells to help save your village from invasion in Fantasy Mage, coming next week to Android

Released by Illogical Games, Fantasy Mage is (what appears to be) an upcoming top down shooter, with a fantasy spin to it. Tabbed as part Action-RPG and part hack n' slash, players will be tasked with unleashing all sorts of wizardry an an unsuspecting army. Players will be assuming the role of a young wizard, who is tasked with defending a small village from an invading army of skeletons.

This invasion is broken up over sixty different stages, and the wizard must defeat all of the enemies on one stage before he will be able to progress to the next one. At the end of a given stage, the player will be awarded with a random drop of loot. Said loot will range from normal, to rare, and top out at legendary level, and will include the likes of boots, spells, robes, or hats. They are all equip-able as soon as the player has them, so there are no level requirements. Each piece of loot will also include abilities or boosts to things like the wizard's health and defense. Your spells can also be upgraded by weakening defenses, knocking enemies back, and so on.

Fantasy Mage also incorporates a handful of elements (earth, fire, and water to be exact), with spells slotting in to those categories, as well as enemy alignments. Each of the three elements will have their own strengths and weaknesses as well, and matching them up appropriately to a given enemy.

Fantasy Mage is set to drop next week, on the evening of February 16th/day of the February 17th. This game will cost $2.99 and as far as we know, there won't be any IAPs either. You can check out some of the gameplay with the video below, as well as additional screenshots.
