Nexon Company which is based in Korea, has an intriguing new card game on the horizon. Mabinogi Duel is coming to Android/iOS later this year, and the game has just been soft launched in some areas.

[UPDATE: Tuesday, November 17th - 9:10 PM, PST] We have just received word that the intriguing tactical trading card game Mabinogi Duel should be arriving in the Google Play Store sometime today/tomorrow. We know a lot of people are looking forward to playing this game. As soon as we find out that it is available to download in the Play Store, we will update this article. Check back with DroidGamers later today/tomorrow for more news about the game's release.

Nexon Company released Legion of Heroes earlier this year on Android. They have chosen to use their game-creating talent to join the ever-so-popular trading card genre. Mabinogi Duel is a Tactical Trading Card Game. The game itself is based on the MMO Mabinogi. If you are interested in this type of game, maybe you live where the game is being soft-launched. Areas for the soft launch include: Austrailia, Canada, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Malaysia. The worldwide release of the game is expected later this year.

"With a focus on strategic gameplay, Mabinogi Duel gives players new to the trading card genre the ability to pick it up and get going quickly. But the game also allows for more experienced players to continually fine tune their game plans and tactics as they take on their friends and other players globally." - Nexon Company

Mabinogi Duel Features:

  • Generation 1 The Lord of Farkka: Substantial single-player campaign, filled with colorful stories of a fantasy world, exciting cards, casting elves, goblins, warriors and witches.
  • Player Versus Player (PvP) Arenea: Players enjoy real-time PvP battles and participate in various PvP events.
  • Real Card Trading: Players trade their own cards with other players via Soul Link System

Mabinogi Duel is showcasing some really intricately detailed and beautiful artwork. The style of game play is interesting as the rules of Mabinogi Duel is a TCG without draw. There is no card draw in the game. "You will play all 12 cards on your hand and compete with real strategy." The website for the game goes into great detail about playing the game. We have included the link below if you are interested in checking it out.

If you enjoy card games like Hearthstone, Card Crawl or the many others available for Android, you may want to add this one to your list. We have included the link to their website below, as well as the Google Play Link for the game, in case you live in one of the areas where the soft launch is taking place. We are pretty sure the game will be free-to-play once it launches worldwide. We will keep you updated as we learn more.
