HTC Blinkfeed becomes HTC Sense Home, adds customization and themes
HTC is pushing out a new update to the Blinkfeed app that re-brands it to HTC Sense Home, while adding in some new features. The change comes in advance of the launch of the One M9, bringing some of its new software features to the One M8 and One M7. The biggest changes are customizable themes with a full theme store and HTC’s new Sense Home widget, which displays shortcuts to apps depending on the context, such as your location and the time of day.
Theme options include packages or components. The theme options can change things like colors, sound effects, wallpapers, icons and more. HTC has plenty of pre-made packages, but since you have the option to download everything individually, you could create your own and tweak your phone until it looks just right.
The update is available now for One M8 and One M7 owners. It’s good to see that HTC is working to keep its older devices up to date with new software features, particularly ones that were touted as big new features of its new flagship, the One M9. Let us know how you’re enjoying the new themes once you’ve had a chance to try them out.
