VLC is king of media players, playing almost any media format you can imagine. I’m an avid user on the PC, but there’s also an Android app to watch videos on your smartphone. And according to the changelog for VLC 3.0, the app will be getting Chromecast support.
Chromecast support was announced quite a while ago, but it looks like VLC is finally getting around to implementing it. And considering VLC is a free and open source app, we can’t blame them for the delay. But if the changelog won’t change by the time of the release, you’ll be able to stream videos to your Chromecast or other Cast-supported device!
The update has no launch date, so it might come next week or next month. Are any of you VLC users, and will you be using the Chromecast support? Leave a comment!
