Spigen keeps HTC One M9 alternate design hope alive
Let’s be honest: We were all a little disappointed when “official” videos of the HTC One M9 leaked this afternoon that showed HTC’s new flagship with a design that looked nearly indistinguishable form the HTC One (M8). Sure, there are a few subtle differences, like the placement of the power button on the side and a two-tone metal finish, but the phone doesn’t look as stunning as the leaks that hit the web a few weeks back.
Fortunately, there’s still hope. Spigen has launched its HTC One M9 case pre-order pages on its site along with images which match up to the alternate render of the HTC One M9 shared by @evleaks. Since the most recent image and video leaks show a different design, we’re not exactly sure what to make of the images posted by Spigen, but @evleaks suggests that they’re based off of his leak. We’re pretty sure that most people would prefer the alternate One M9 design that features a centrally placed front-facing camera and BoomSound speaker grills similar to those of the Nexus 9, but we don’t want to get our hope up.
One thing that is certain: HTC has successfully deployed a smoke screen that will keep us guessing until the March 1st unveiling of the One M9.
