LG announces the G Flex 2 — here's what you need to know!

The original flexible phone gets a worthy update for 2015

LG, as expected, has announced the LG G Flex 2, the second coming of curved smartphones. We've spent a little time with the G Flex 2, and it's worthy successor to the bendable phone that didn't get a whole lot of love here in the U.S. (Its underwhelming specs didn't help matters any.)

But LG's taken the feedback to heart. And what you have today is an interesting phone that fits between the flagship LG G3 and whatever 2015's new top model will be. And it does so with a bendable body to absorb accidental drops or meetings between your rear and a chair, improved self-healing capabilities to help with those annoying little scratches that plague all smartphones (and particularly glossy plastic ones like this), and a few new software features.

Oh, and it's the first Android phone to sport Qualcomm's new 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor. Kind of a big deal.

We've got the full press release below, but here are the big strokes.

And that's just the beginning.
