The MX4 Pro is Meizu’s newest superphone

Chinese phone manufacturer Meizu has just announced and detailed its latest flagship superphone, the MX4 Pro, with a 2K+ display and “Retina Sound.”

Much like some of its biggest competitors, Meizu is taking a new approach to its lineup offering two similar yet wildly different handsets under the same family name. The MX4 Pro is the newest addition to the MX4 family, with specs that really earn that Pro title. Aside from the horrendously named 2K+ display and Retina Sound, the MX4 Pro features:

  • 5.5-inch 2560 x 1536 display (“better than normal 2K”)
  • Octa-core Exynos 5430 processor
  • Mali T628 MP6 GPU
  • 3GB of RAM
  • 20.7-megapixel Sony IMX220 Exmor RS rear camera
  • 5-megapixel front-facing camera
  • Up to 64GB interanal storage
  • 3350mAh battery
  • Retina Sound with patented passive filter technology
  • One touch sapphire finger print scanner
  • Android 4.4

As for the price of the Meizu MX4 Pro, it starts at the equivalent of around $410 in China and will be released on December 6. The Meizu MX4 is undeniably an impressive piece of hardware, but at $410 it sits up with the One Plus One as one of the best deals in smartphones today. Unfortunately no international release information was made available today for the MX4 Pro, but this is one device we wouldn’t mind seeing made available in the rest of the world. What do you think of the Meizu MX4 Pro?
