Moto G (2013) receiving an OTA update to Android 4.4.4

In the early part of June, the original Moto G received its official update to Android 4.4.3 that, thanks to Motorola, brought with it plenty of features that were tied to the Android 4.4.4 update plus a little extra from Motorola to add to the mix. Now the Lenovo-owned Motorola has begun sending out an over the air (OTA) update to the unlocked, U.S.-based Moto G.

The update is a small one, measuring in at only 21MB, but it will bring the original Moto G up to Android 4.4.4 KitKat. The upgrade itself isn’t about bringing new features to the smartphone, as an aforementioned update handled that, but instead is focused more on software improvements and tweaks.

The update is rolling out now, so if you own a Moto G (2013), keep an eye out.
