Just because the work week is over, doesn't mean there aren't great games to be discovered. If you are in a rush, and only have a few moments to get some gaming in this weekend, you should try a game called Fast Finger by BluBox Games. It is a fast-thinking, puzzle solving game. All that is required, is moving your fingertip, as quickly as possible, from the start of the puzzle, to the finish line. Can you do it?
BluBox Games can be found in Southern California. Fast Finger is BluBox's first game to arrive in the Play Store. Another title coming soon from BluBox, is Monster High Ghouls & Jewels. Fast Finger is a game that requires concentration, a steady finger, and a willingness to try and try again, to get the fastest time possible.
"Blaze your own trail through more than 200 challenging mazes while dodging dangerous obstacles, including rotating blades, giant lasers, and guided missiles. Race to the finish line and earn more than 25 unique trails to light up and customize your maze." - BluBox Games

The game presentation and design in Fast Finger is crisp. It utilizes minimal art, with clean design, and an assortment of colors. The goal is simple. Make it to the finish line as quickly as you can. But wait... oh yes, there are rotating blades and lasers in your way. This is part of what makes the game fun. If you can make it to the finish line quickly, while avoiding the obstacles the first time, there is indeed a sense of accomplishment. However, most of the time, it is going to take a couple of tries to figure the puzzle out. Part of what makes the game unique, is that some of the puzzle elements, don't start moving until you do. With some of the obstacles, you will have to start and stop on the course to avoid some of the traps.
There are plenty of puzzles to be completed in the game. The game is broken up into six chapters with twenty levels in each chapter. More levels are supposed to be available at some point. Each chapter also has corresponding Dark Levels, which provides more complex puzzles. When you complete a level, you will either receive a gold, silver or bronze score, based on your time. If you obtain gold, you are given one heart. The hearts are used to unlock or play the next level. Silver and bronze don't yield anything. This is where the free to play element comes in.
As long as you complete your levels with the fastest time, you will receive one heart. There is the usual time countdown with the game that will give you additional hearts. In no way while I was playing, did I feel that the way this was set up, was a money grab. You can always keep playing the level until you get a better time. it doesn't require more hearts to do that. Unless you turn off the game and start the level over. It is all about skill, so it doesn't in any way seem an unfair system. There is an in-game store, where for $4.99 (VIP Package) you get Unlimited Lives, a Special Trail, +2 Shield Powerups, +2 Time Powerups and it removes the ads. You also have the option of removing the ads for $1.99. Special Trails are unlocked by purchasing the VIP Package, or you can unlock some of them by completing certain levels. You can also watch a video to gain a heart, so the game really has provided quite a few ways to keep playing, without you having to dig into your pockets to do so.
The game is integrated with Google Game Plays Services and Leaderboards. There are 46 achievements to unlock. In something that is a little unusual, and definitely frustrating to me, is the fact that syncing between devices is advertised. While this is partly true, unless I am missing it somewhere, the only way to do that is by signing into FaceBook. I went from playing the game on my phone, to my tablet (More screen real estate and smaller fingers helps with this game.) and realized I had to start over. When I went to hit the sync data button, the sign in to FaceBook button message popped up. If you want to use your FaceBook Account for that, it makes sense. If your friends are playing, you can track one another's scores with the leaderboards via FaceBook. If you are like me and only want to use Google Game Play Services for that type of thing, then, you may be a little frustrated... only a little.
Fast Finger is a great game of skill, that is well implemented by BluBox Games. They have also integrated Everplay into the game. This allows you to record your replays and have them uploaded to Everplay's server for the world to see. You will have to create an Everplay account, but this is not difficult to do. Some other popular games using Everplay are Turbo Dismount, Shred It!, and Godfire: Rise of Prometheus. Those last two titles, we know Android gamers are still eagerly anticipating. If you want some quick puzzling fun, that only requires a single fingertip and some patience, give Fast Finger a try. It is a game that can be played in quick bursts, and it definitely is a game you can play with friends, to see who gets the high score.
