The DROID Turbo will launch on October 28 and we now know what to expect
Verizon’s infamous DroidDoes tease site is back and with it has come the release date for the much-anticipated DROID Turbo. According to a countdown on the site, the Motorola-made DROID Turbo will launch on October 28, or about two weeks from today. The DROID Turbo has been the recipient of several leaks, now including a huge leak from Android Central. Let’s take a look at what we can expect from the DROID Turbo.
The DROID Turbo looks to have a 5.2-inch QHD (2560×1440) display, 2.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, 21-megapixel camera with 4K video capture, Android 4.4 KitKat (though an update to Android L is likely) and a massive 3,900mAh battery. Summed up, the Motorola DROID Turbo looks to be one of the most powerful phones on the market, if not the most powerful.
The body will come in red and black and be made of a unique metallized glass finish that will provide serious scratch resistance. The display will be made with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 to offer further protection. Even more than that, the back panel will be reinforced with Kevlar to provide protection and a smooth finish. And for the cherry on top, the phone is splash-proof, meaning that it’ll stand up to everyday spills and rain.
The DROID Turbo will come with Motorola’s usual software as well as some specific additions such as Droid Zap for easy localized sharing. Motorola is including the Turbo charger with the device to provide incredible charging times for the device. And if you’re not into wires and fast charging, the DROID Turbo is all set up for slower wireless charging.
What we’re looking at is a beastly new phone that will rival every other flagship on the market. Fortunately, we only have two more weeks to wait before it’s officially announced.
Do you like the looks of the DROID Turbo?
